2.5X-Is equipped with full power features, A/C, 16 inch steel wheels, automatic headlights, tilt steering, trip computer, keyless entry, cruise control, and a four speaker CD stereo with auxiliary audio jack. The forester is AWD and is powered by a 2.5 liter four cylinder engine. It produces 170 horsepower and 170 pound feet of torque. A five speed manual transmission is standard with a four speed automatic transmission as an option. According to their online auto brochure the fuel economy is rated at 20mpg city and 26mpg highway with an automatic transmission. Standard safety features include ABS with brake assist, front seat side air bags, front and rear side curtain airbags, traction control and stability control.

2.5X Premium- This model adds a panoramic sunroof, roof rails, eight way power drivers seat, 17 inch alloy wheels, steering wheel audio controls, and reclining rear seat backs. The engine again is the 2.5 liter four cylinder with 170hp and 170 pound feet of torque. Standard safety features include ABS with brake assist, front seat side air bags, front and rear side curtain air bags, traction control and stability control. The All weather package is optional on this model.

2.5X Limited- This model adds the All Weather package (which includes heated front seats, heated mirrors, and windshield wiper de-icer), automatic climate control, six speaker stereo with a six disc CD changer, and leather interior. AWD, engine, and safety features are standard.

2.5XT Premium-This model is similar to the 2.5X Premium but has a turbo charged version of the 2.5 liter four cylinder engine that produces 224hp and 226 pound feet of torque, with a mileage rating of 19mpg city and 24mpg highway, tilt telescoping steering wheel, fog lights, upgraded cloth interior, and a manual six way adjustable drivers seat.
